According to Nielsen Korea, Lee Se Young and Lee Seung Gi’s K-drama remained the most-watched Monday and Tuesday evening drama in its time slot.

The rom-com series follows the story of Kim Jung Ho, a prosecutor who hides his new identity as a webtoon writer exposing a conglomerate’s illegal activities.

Interestingly, he gets reunited with his ex-girlfriend Kim Yuri, a fearless lawyer who decides to put up her own cafe and give legal advice.

Airing every Monday and Tuesday, the 16-part episode series is available on KBS2 and Viki and Viu TV for English subtitles.

Kim Jung Ho and Kim Yuri’s reunion gets intense as secrets start pouring in.

The Law Cafe episode 9 begins with a flashback of college Yuri who was with her mother as the duo struggles to find a lawyer who will represent them against the Dohan company.

It is in connection with her father’s case that led to a tragedy, leaving him and a few others dead.

The scene goes back to the present time when Kim Jung Ho’s father, Chief Prosecutor Kim Seung Won was released after he got embroiled in an anomaly of handling the case in favor of the company.

The case resurfaced after Kim Jung Ho exposed his family’s involvement with the incident that hurt Kim Yuri.

In The Law Cafe episode 9, another highlight is Yuri being reprimanded after she was accused of violating the Attorney-at-law act for getting clients at her cafe and giving them legal advice.

Kim Jung Ho tried to intervene, but in the end, Yuri was punished by the council.

Despite being reprimanded, she had no choice but to help the Happy Mart ladies after seeking legal advice regarding a fraud case and is on the verge of losing their money on cryptocurrency.

Trying to mediate and help the ladies, she spoke to a salon owner whom the two ladies trusted their money with. Instead of getting a concrete explanation, she was pointed out to a shaman that would help her with investments.

Initially, Kim Yuri and Bae Joon were skeptical about his capabilities but were shocked after he was able to figure out the incidents happening around her. The accuracy of the shaman gained Yuri’s trust.

In another scene, Kim Jung Ho meets the Dohan Company chairman, who pursued him to join the company in exchange for exposing the activities, causing great chaos to the conglomerate.

Of course, he rejects the offer but is surprised when the chairman mentions Yuri’s name.

Hearing that the chairman seemed to be in favor of the grandson, Kim Jung Ho, instead of him, his own son, CEO Lee Pyun Woong stormed at the Law Cafe drunk, scaring Kim Yuri with his actions.

Thankfully Kim Jung Ho came in the nick of time and defended Yuri from the CEO.

Going back to the shaman, the salon owner revealed that she was also scammed by the shaman, who turns out to be a great con artist.

She sought help from Kim Jung Ho to help her track the person. Fortunately, through his connection, he was able to get intel about his identity and whereabouts.

At a gambling facility, Kim Jung Ho and the Happy Mart ladies disguised themselves as bettors and were able to push his buttons by losing in several games.

Exposing themselves as undercover, it caused a commotion leaving Park Woo Jin with a minor wound.

The last scene it showed Jung Ho’s disappointment over his father’s action while CEO Lee wanted to clear his name from the controversy and revealed that he was the whistleblower, leaving his father and brother-in-law as the culprit.

Wanting to comfort Kim Jung Ho, Kim Yuri called him as he apologized for the pain he caused for keeping things to Yuri.

As they walked toward each other, a fast car approached them. The upcoming episode is set to feature who among Yuri and Jung Ho is the target.
